"The Watkins Glen Six Hours Race included the Trans-Am for the first time, and would be incorporated in the long race through 1980. Hurley Haywood and Peter Gregg won the Trans-Am segment in the Brumos Porsche Carerra. They finished 3rd overall, and received double points for the victory".
